Your Money Story Has Nothing to Do with Numbers
Most money problems aren't math problems. They're story problems. The stories we learned about money, worth, and what we deserve. The stories we've picked up and stockpiled since childhood. Are you ready to rewrite yours?
What if you could improve your relationship with money?
Talking about money can be hard. Talking about the emotions of money? That's even harder. But here's what I've learned working with clients: your self-worth is not a number in your bank account, and lasting financial change happens when we address the feelings, not just the spreadsheets.
Sound familiar?
If you're nodding along, you're in the right place.
Financial Therapy Can Help
Our money behaviors are largely driven by unconscious scripts and beliefs we learned before we even knew we were learning them. If you're like most people, no one talked to you about money growing up—much less told you that money is emotional. No one taught you how to have healthy money conversations with your partner or kids.
All of that can change
Financial therapy is a process that combines therapeutic and financial skills to help people think, feel, communicate, and behave differently with money. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your money story and write a healthier one.

This isn't about budgeting apps or investment strategies.
This is about understanding why you make the money choices you make, and creating new patterns that actually stick.
Money and Self-Care: More Connected Than You Think
Imagine we could watch a film of your life from last week—no sound, just video. What would we see? How did you spend your time? Your money? Would it be clear that you value yourself?
Self-care isn't about spa days and splurges. Real self-care is a set of daily habits that reflect three things:
Self-worth
Purpose
Gratitude
Your relationship with money matters because you matter. Money is a tool that reflects our values, which is why it's an essential component of overall wellness.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Certified Financial Therapist™ is a mental health or financial professional certified by the Financial Therapy Association for their expertise in blending financial planning and therapeutic techniques. We help individuals and couples address the emotional and psychological aspects of their financial lives.
While I'm trained as a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State, financial therapy falls under a coaching agreement which allows me to see people across the country. Coaching uses therapeutic skills to help clients create change but doesn't provide medical diagnosis or treatment. During our consultation, we'll determine which service best fits your needs.
As a CFT™, I collaborate with your current financial professionals (or help establish referrals if you don't have them). I help you develop healthy thoughts, feelings, communication, and behaviors around money. Then your financial professionals help you design a plan that reflects your values and goals.
While traditional psychotherapy is often approved as a qualified medical expense, coaching doesn't qualify as a medical expense since there's no diagnosis or treatment of a mental health disorder in the coaching process.
